On Sept. 17, Flight RU287 of Airbridge Cargo Airlines (hereinafter referred to as "Airbridge Airlines") landed at Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport, marking that Airbridge Airlines has been operating in Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport for 10 years.
As the first foreign airlines to operate scheduled cargo routes from Moscow to Zhengzhou in central China, Airbridge Airlines has expanded the air routes between the Central Plains and Europe, the United States and Russia from one to several in the past decade, becoming a loyal supporter of the "Aerial Silk Road".
Airbridge Airlines, a subsidiary of Volga-Dnepr Group, was founded in 2004. Based at Sheremetyevo International Airport, Airbridge Airlines is mainly engaged in scheduled freight between Russia, Asia, Europe and North America, and has opened cargo hubs in China such as Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
On Sept. 17, 2010, Zhengzhou guaranteed the scheduled cargo route of Airbridge Airlines from Moscow to Zhengzhou, marking the opening of air routes from Europe to Central Plains. Airbridge Airlines became the first foreign cargo airlines to carry out full-cargo business at Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport.
On Aug. 8, 2012, AirBridge Airlines opened another cargo route from Zhengzhou to Chicago via Moscow. The number of cargo flights increased from 2 shifts per week to 7 shifts per week. According to preliminary statistics, Airbridge Airlines has contributed 300,000 tons of cargos to Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport in 10 years of operation in Zhengzhou.
With the further development of bilateral cooperation, Airbridge Airlines, together with Volga-Dnepr Group's Atlant-Soyuz Airlines, Volga-Dneper Airlines and its sister company CargoLogicAir, has opened a number of cargo routes at Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport.
