At 7 a.m. on December 1, the first train G4051 of Zhengzhou-Xiangyang section of Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway departed from Zhengzhou East Railway Station. The first train G4069 of Zhengzhou-Fuyang High-speed Railway followed 26 minutes later. At 7:40 a.m., the train G4088 of Shangqiu-Hefei section of the Beijing-Hong Kong High-speed Railway starting from Zhengzhou East Railway Station was the first to arrive at Shangqiu Railway Station.
On the same day, after more than three years of construction, Zhengzhou-Xiangyang section of Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway, Zhengzhou-Fuyang High-speed Railway and Shangqiu-Hefei section of the Beijing-Hong Kong High-speed Railway were put into operation. Zhoukou, Nanyang and Pingdingshan in our province have stepped forward into the era of high-speed railway.
Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway, the lower left extension of the "Union Jack-shaped" high-speed railway network, is an important passenger express route connecting the central plains and southwest China. The 389 km Zhengzhou-Xiangyang section, with 11 stations, can reach Pingdingshan and Nanyang in as little as 47 minutes, 1 hour and 9 minutes respectively.
Zhengzhou-Fuyang High-speed Railway, the lower right extension of the "Union Jack-shaped" high-speed railway network, has a total length of 276 km with 11 stations. With five new high-speed railway stations, Fugou South Railway Station, Xihua Railway Station, Zhoukou East Railway Station, Huaiyang South Railway Station and Shenqiu North Railway Station, it has enabled Zhoukou to make a breakthrough from 0 to 5 in high-speed railway construction.
Beijing-Hong Kong High-speed Railway is an important "vertical line" in China's eight vertical and eight horizontal high-speed railway lines, of which the Shangqiu-Hefei section is 378 kilometers long, with 14 stations along the line, including Shangqiu Railway Station, Shangqiu East Railway Station, Fuyang West Railway Station, Huainan South Railway Station and Hefei South Railway Station.
On the opening day, e-tickets began to be rolled out in stations in Henan for the Zhengzhou-Xiangyang section of Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway, Zhengzhou-Fuyang High-speed Railway, Shangqiu-Hefei section of Beijing-Hong Kong High-speed Railway and the Zhengzhou-Xuzhou section of Xuzhou-Lanzhou High-speed Railway. Only when both the departure station and the terminal station are e-ticket pilot stations can passengers swipe their ID cards or QR codes to get in and out of the station.
The three high-speed railway lines, which span Henan Province, Anhui Province and Hubei Province, have further densified China's eight vertical and eight horizontal high-speed railway lines. China will have more than 139,000 kilometers of railways in operation by the end of this year, including 35,000 kilometers of high-speed railways, ranking first in the world.
With the gradual implementation and improvement of the "Union Jack-shaped" high-speed railway network, it will help speed up the construction of a 2-hour high-speed railway economic circle centered on Zhengzhou, covering the goods distribution and consumption market of nearly 400 million people in central China. Zhengzhou will take more favorable opportunities in the national economic development.
